Subscription Codes Are Being Discontinued
Historically, physical copies of the Nacha Operating Rules & Guidelines received as a UMACHA member benefit or purchased during the bulk pre-order contained a front-cover subscription code providing access to the online version of the publication.
Beginning with the 2027 publication: Nacha will no longer include a subscription code for the online Nacha Operating Rules & Guidelines with any physical copy of the publication.
Why is this changing?
Nacha is sunsetting its use of subscription codes for granting access and will instead utilize "magic links," a new method of granting users access to the online publication. This is largely why subscription codes are being eliminated from the physical publication.
What should UMACHA Members do?
Before placing a bulk pre-order, UMACHA Members are encouraged to evaluate how this change impacts their organization and the number of physical and/or online versions of the Nacha Operating Rules they should purchase during the bulk pre-order.
What's changing with the 2027 Online Version?
A New Name
The online version of the Nacha Operating Rules & Guidelines (previously known as the NORO) is now referred to as the Nacha Rules Explorer.

The Nacha Rules Explorer is available in two versions:
A New Way to Access the Rules
Historically, Nacha has granted access to the online version of the Nacha Operating Rules & Guidelines using subscription codes. Nacha is sunsetting subscription codes and will instead use secure links, referred to as "magic links," to grant user access.
Benefits of magic links include:
- Once a magic link is used, access to the online version will be tied to the user's Nacha profile, eliminating the need to maintain separate login credentials from the user's primary Nacha.org profile.
- Access can be switched to a different staff member if the need arises, such as in the event of employee turnover.
- Easier access without having to enter a long, complex subscription code that may be prone to keying errors.
Bulk Ordering and Quantity Information
Does UMACHA offer a bulk pre-order each year?
Yes. UMACHA offers Members an annual bulk pre-order for the Nacha Operating Rules & Guidelines, usually taking place each September - November.
When is the deadline for the 2027 bulk pre-order?
All order forms must be completed and submitted to UMACHA by Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
Orders must be fully completed and submitted using the order form linked below. Orders received after the deadline will likely be subject to normal pricing and ineligible for the bulk price discount.
What is the minimum quantity required for bulk pricing?
Members must purchase a minimum of five copies of a given version to qualify for discounted bulk pricing.
Can we mix and match versions to reach the five-copy minimum?
No. The minimum quantity applies separately to each version.
If we order five of one version, can we order fewer than five of another?
No. Each version has its own minimum purchase quantity of five to qualify for bulk pricing.
Can non-members participate in the bulk pre-order?
No. The annual bulk pre-order is available only to active UMACHA-member organizations.
Does our complimentary Member copy count toward the five-copy minimum?
No. Order quantities should not include the complimentary version of the Nacha Operating Rules & Guidelines provided annually to UMACHA Members.
When will we receive our order?
December 2026Barring any technical issues, Nacha Rules ordered during the 2027 bulk pre-order should be received in late December 2026.
When will we receive our invoice?
January 2027Invoices for Nacha Rules ordered during the 2027 bulk pre-order will be issued in January 2027.
